COVID-19: More Canadians ready, willing to get vaccinated ‘right away’ – Vancouver Sun

Canadians are ready and willing to get vaccinated sooner rather than later, according to a new poll released the same week the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine begins rolling out.
In an Angus Reid opinion poll released Monday, 48 per cent of respondents say they’re ready to be vaccinated immediately, an increase from 40 per cent a month ago.
Those over the age of 65 also appear more willing, with 61 per cent saying they’re ready to be immunized.
That said, still one in seven people say they either do not plan to get the vaccine or plan to wait, a figure that remains unchanged from a previous Angus Reid poll. Of those, 70 per cent cite concerns about long-term side effects as their reason.
Half of Canadians say the federal government has done a “good job” of securing the vaccine, while more than half (58 per cent) also feel confident that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government will be able to manage distribution well.
